Say goodbye to store bought granola

  1. Heat the oven to 300°F and arrange a rack in the middle

  2. Place 3 cup oats, 4 table spoons brown sugar, 1 teaspoon cinnamon, and 1/4 teaspoon salt in a large bowl and stir to combine; set aside

  3. Place 1/3 cup honey, 1/4 cup oil, and 1 teaspoon vanilla in a small bowl and stir to combine. Pour over the oat mixture and mix until the oats are thoroughly coated.

  4. Spread the mixture in a thin, even layer on a cookie sheet. Bake for 15 minutes, then stir and continue baking until the granola is very light golden brown, about 10-15 minutes more.

  5. Place the baking sheet on a wire rack to cool for 20 minutes, stir the granola every 5 or so minutes until it is hardened and room temperature

  6. Add any fruit, nuts, seeds or even some cacao nibs to the granola. Toss to combine and store in a container.

Please note, granola is best to be consumed within the first few days but can be stored up to two weeks.
